for nikki's contacts

When Nikki grows up, I'm gonna attempt to teach her to say "i love you, daddy" and "dad's cool!" once she can talk. She's got the greatest dad in the world (again, I'm a bit biased here ... but so what, who cares? *wink*). I think it's really important that she knows it .... how much her dad loves her, how much her dad loves me and how much I love her dad. I've written about how perfect he is for me. Though, he may not be the Mr. Perfect, but what is being perfect anyway? He's perfect for me in so many ways.
And again, I've proved just that. Here's why I think he's the best ...
  • although he would have wanted it longer, he took 2 weeks off of work when nikki was born so that he could help me and get to know her. he didn’t want to miss out on anything

  • for the 2 weeks he's been off (and often times even up until now, on days when he's at home -- sundays & mondays) he cooks for me (for us) and makes sure i'd take plenty of fluids (from soups, to juices to water) to gear up those mammary glands into major (milk) production

  • when he gets home from work, he drops his stuff to the floor and gives both of us a big kiss and hug before doing anything else, and he always tells us how much he missed us

  • he gets me water when I’m nursing so I don’t get dehydrated and he doesn’t complain - even when I ask for water right after he sat down (which happens all the time, but i swear it's not intentional!)

  • he spends quality time every day in an animated vowel exchange with Nikki ... those ahhhhhhhs and ohhhhhs ... and those silly names in between. almost always they end up laughing (well, he laughs and she giggles!). I just love watching them together.

  • he indulges me in my crazy food cravings (and that's after i've given birth) ... even going out at night (past dinnertime) to get my artery-clogging craving for a burger, fries and milkshake

  • and just today, when for the nth time, we failed to get some scones at Breadbar (i'm crazy over their scones, but everytime we or he goes there, they're always sold-out) ... he googled scones on the net, printed out a recipe and made me some really really good chocolate scones! lami oi! i've got myself my own francois*! a little less crazy and a whole lot hunkier. how lucky could one get! hahaha!
------------------
* Francois was a character in the show, Trading Spouses a few episodes back, which we both got to see. He's one crazy and weird french baker who's married to a puppeteer. How crazy? Among the other crazy things he did on the show, there as one, when his "new wife" called for him to help with a bug hanging on the ceiling (she was scared of them), he quickly hopped on the bed, killed the bug using a chopping board and a spatula ... and chopped the poor bug into pieces. I guess, you have to see it to what I mean. =P
