Yesterday we celebrated your 6th month birthday. Yes, 6 months!(We were torn between having it on the 28th Feb or the 1st Mar since it's a leap year. I don't know how they do it, but your dad and i decided it should be in Feb. =)) It's incredibly hard to believe (and equally scary, really, really scary) that you're already halfway there --- to turning 1, to being a toddler! But let's not rush into that, okay? You can stay here, as a baby, as long as you want (if only).
the birthday girl
You continue to talk a lot. And I mean, a lot. I still haven't gotten over that plane ride back home ... where you babbled your heart out. Hahaha!
her first plane ride ever
"Aaaaaahhh" is still your favorite, and "Ooooohhhh" and "Hayyyyyyy" as well, though you've managed to string out a few more I just couldn't figure out exactly what it is you're saying. And oh, we're still desperately waiting for "Dada" or "Mama", sweetie, so let's work on it , ok? *wink*
i love this look on her face
In milestone news, you can sit! on your own! unsupported! woohoo! You look so grown up sitting on the floor playing with your toys. That is, until you start toppling over, with this funny look on your face (actually, it's your "i'm-about-to-cry-now come-and-help me" look) like somebody pushed you or something. It's hilarious - and cute! Sorry, Baby, mommy just had to let out a chuckle! Hehehe!
look Ma, i'm sitting up
enjoying the gorgeous weather outside
Your sleep hasn't quite gotten back to "normal" yet. But Daddy's sleeping with us now, so I guess, it's getting better. You still wake up to nurse, often 2 or 3 times at night. We can't get you to sleep without nursing yet at night, but you can now put yourself back to sleep after the first one most of the time. You're a boobie baby to the core. Which isn't so bad, except when you'd decide to nibble on mom's nipple. Ouch! If only you'd learn to use your bottle for feeding and not for playing.
nibbling on the bottle instead of drinking from it
Cereal is becoming a regular thing now for you. You know when it's time as soon as I take out your pink bowl and pink spoon and propped you up on your highchair. You start kicking your legs up and showing off your gummy smile. Next on the menu? We'll give fruits and veggies a try next. And oh, speaking of that, you're teething already! Although you still have not cut a tooth yet, we can already see one beautiful pearly white sticking out it's mighty crown. No wonder you've been cranky last week. It must've been that tooth bothering you so bad. You scared us so bad one night that we almost rushed you to the ER. Tsk! tsk! tsk! Sorry about that, sweetie.
sound asleep the morning after
We finally got you that intellitainer. It was waiting on you when we got back from Indy and the moment your Dad put you in it, you face just lit up. They say it's a total waste of money and space, but would this face lie:
having so much fun with her new toy
Words aren't enough to fully describe how I feel, how we feel. I've sat here at the computer all day long thinking and still, words fail me. You've brought tremendous joy to our hearts and almost always we still look at each other and smile this silly grin and say, "nana gyud ta baby noh, can you believe it".
the look of love ... nikki with daddy
I love you and everything about you. I love the way you observe things around you with utter amazement, sitting riveted in your seat. I love the way you talk with that serious look on your face as though we're talking some long hidden secret you want me to keep. I love the way you take on a new challenge with so much determination, like wrangling a stuffed toy trying to put it in your mouth, or wanting to sit up and grab your overhead mobile.
seriously thinking about eating it
I love the way you touch and learn new textures/ things and as you take it all in, you let out a deep sigh like you just climbed a mountain. I love way your little hands touch my face or my hair or my breast, and when our eyes meet you break into that sweetest smile.
look! i'm sitting up while taking a bath
Each day, I am so blessed to see you grow and explore the world around you. I'll be your biggest fan, staunchest supporter and loyal audience (alongside with Daddy, of course), daily cheering you on and helping you when you need it. I pray that you'll be blessed with good health, wisdom and a kind heart. And may each day, I'd fully appreciate all that I have and to savor each and every moment spent with you as they breeze by.all my love,
Mommy
