50

Posted by Dwight-and-Aileen on Feb 10, '06 5:51 PM for Dwight-and-Aileen's contacts
I had been spending my day searching for an instructional CD Dwight needed for a review book he's reading. Although I already had basically unpacked all our stuff from the big move (well, not really all ... almost all ;P), I've kept a few boxes unopened and unchecked. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere in those shoeboxes where I've kept all letters, cards and small note thingies. I just have to go through them one by one, I guess.

While sorting through box #2, I found a piece of paper, a sheet from an old pink & blue organizer I had way back in college. It was tucked in a small envelope together with an old concert ticket and some giftcards I got from Dwight. I glanced through the paper, distracting myself from my supposed search for that missing CD. What I'd written both amused me, embarrassed me and just brought back fond memories.

It was a short entry I'd written about my first real date with Dwight. Real date because the first was a group date, technically not a date. Hahaha! It wasn't really that interesting .... romantic or out of the ordinary. What I found amusing was it didn't even match either Dwight's or my own memory of that day. Both of us remember the date being a little awkward. I remember him not talking much and looking a bit nervous. He remembers coming in hours early at the mall where we were to meet and taking along with him his bestfriend for some support of sorts. Of course, the friend left just as I arrived. I remember being so nervous too ... and a bit worried being caught on a date, with a date by some classmates.

But on that torn sheet, I didn't write about any nervousness or awkwardness. I wrote about what a good time I had, how comfortable we'd been, how we talked for hours and hours and how much I enjoyed the company. I can't say for certain which is which, which was an accurate account of that first date. Although I'm pretty sure my memory is correct.

Perhaps, it was just the heady excitement, the euphoria of a new relationship that made me write what I did. Because at that moment, at the end of that day, I found that first date apparently absolutely perfect. =)

Hello yen! Reading your blog reminded me of my first date with Jun. ;-) I thought our first date would be the start of our relationship. But that time he thought that, that would be the first and last date because he said I was so high for him to reach. I found out about this after more than a year on our second date. Imagine how confused I was for a long time. ;-) Despite our contradicting feelings that first date, kami ra pud nagdayon. And if it wasn't for that, our first date wouldn't be perfect...for our life's love story...:) hehehe...
