for nikki's contacts
Dear Nikki,

It's hard to believe, but you are four months old today.

What an amazing month it has been ... for you, for us. You continue to blossom daily, and we couldn't be happier. The changes we are seeing in you and the things you are learning are absolutely incredible (your parents are so biased! hehhehe!)

You amaze us daily with your bright eyes and glowing toothless smile. You hit some major milestones this month. You can now easily hold your head up and love to sit up with support.

trying to sit up .... and doing pretty good at that

We hold your hands and pull you to a seated position and what do you know, you hold your head up all the way. The highchair that your Ninang Therese gave you for christmas is becoming your favorite. (Thank you, Ninang!) You now sit at the table with us while we eat. Sometimes you lounge in there through the day and observe everything very carefully. You can grasp your toys now and especially love the bright coloured ones. (The toy piano and lamaze tug & play block is just fun to play with too ... thank you Ninang Lynette & the Lacandulas.)

In a couple of days you'll have your 4month check-up with Dr. Weimer. And those darn immunization shots too. I know, i know, wish we could skip that one out ... but we have to, sweetie. Don't worry Mommy and Daddy will be with you throughout the whole thing ... to kiss the yayay away.

You make a wider variety of noises (mostly squeaks and sqeals ... and lots of a-a-ahhhhhs, o-o-ohhhhhhs) now and you enjoy long involved conversations with your dad every evening. Even if it means him calling you these silly names and you sqealing with delight. Hahaha! They are the highlight of his day! You have a huge smile that truly lights up your eyes and our hearts. You can laugh now (well almost). You get the first little chuckle out and you haven't quite figured out what to do from there.

You are still eating very well and are still exclusively breastfed. That might change when we see your pediatrician. She might wanna try to have you start on solids now. We'll see. Sleep. Well, it's been going pretty good ... till these past few days when you've been waking up 2-3 times in the night for feedings. Which Mommy doesn't mind, of course, since you happily go back to sleep quite easily too. You only cry to tell me you're hungry, tired, bored or gassy. It's easy for me to tell what you want and meet your needs, so you're pretty happy. You have decided lately though that you don't need long daytime naps anymore. You are happy and alert most of the day and have 2-3 short naps. Unless when we're in the car or out for a walk in the stroller ... you like to sleep "while in motion" ... or in mommy's arms after you eat. You are not a fussy baby at all. I think you're spoiling Mommy way too much. *wink*
Thank you for a wonderful month, my precious Nikki Pie! Always remember you are so special and very much loved by so many people.

I love you,
Mommy
