so it started with a random 8 things about you tag. inspired, therese thought of making a whole new tag altogether highlighting what else - domestic faux pas. i mentioned a couple already and those clearly weren't proud moments worth repeating ... well, maybe just this once ... for kicks!
1) so i mentioned busting the microwave. it started with me dropping the rotating dish while washing it. since it still works, we lived for a couple more months minus the dish. na-abtan pa sa bunyag ni nikki nga wla to siya. i scoured ebay hoping to find a match till one lazy friday afternoon, while watching TV, i decided to have some popcorn. i popped it in the microwave, set the setting to popcorn and left it there. a minute or so, i smelled burnt food .. ran to the microwave, sparks flew (with the matching "piti" sound) and it died. the death of sammy, the microwave.
2) oh, how you ever made stew without water? well, i did! not once, but twice! i love love love using the pressure cooker when making stew --- all you have to do is dump everything in, pop on the lid and you're all set. problem is, i forgot to put in water. and all the while, there i was, so excited, imagining "higop ug mainit na sabaw". upside, it didn't really burn the entire meat (nipilit ra ang uban) and it smelled so good. the downside, no "init na sabw to higop" =(
3) just days before we were expecting dwight's cousin and her family over, we bought a six piece set of drinking glasses. so only had four then so we needed some more for the guests. a full 3 days after, i broke all six. not all at once, anam-anam ... but broke all nonetheless. in just a week.
4) a wanna-be baker by heart, i made dwight his 30th bday cake. just had nikki a couple months back, i was disappointed to find out i ran out of packaged frosting. i couldn't just run to the store and grab some ... that would mean taking nikki with me, but she was sleeping soundly in her swing. not too keen on having my cake bare, i remembered therese telling me i can make frosting from shortening & sugar. so i did, but used granulated instead of confectioners. imagine my growing frustration when i couldn't make the creamy consistency i was aiming for the batter. i gave up ... slathered the grainy concoction onto the cake. i clearly instructed him to take out the frosting nlang nya when eating ... for decoration ra na siya. i turned just a sec to clear some dishes, when dwight said, "lami lagi ni (it was his favorite carrot cake) ... unsa ning murag bas?" tua! gi-ingnan tang-tanga! i got busted! hehehe!
hmmm ... unsa pa man oi? i couldn't think of some more ... or perhaps i'm too ashamed to remember. selective amnesia. hehehe!

and oh wa nako na add, kanang mag lung-ag ko and not turning the "cook" button on! pastilan inoras na lang wa gyapon naluto ang kan-on hahaha!!! oh ayen, thanks for sharing yours!!! |
