So I scoured the 2-mile perimeter of our apartment in search for  flowers to shoot. If you've been to our place, you know quite well there's not much around here. Managed to snap a few blooms but still I wasn't happy. Then I remembered these tiny purple beauties I always pass by on my way to Hancock Park during my morning walks with my daughter. Always these call on me to stop and linger for a while. I don't know what they're called, and they're not the ones that catches your eyes at first sight. Heck, you'd barely even notice them for their size. But if you look closely, you'd be able to appreciate its beauty.

"You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing.
I wove my webs for you because I liked you.
After all, what's a life, anyway?
We're born, we live a little while, we die.
A spider's life can't help being something of a mess,
with all this trapping and eating flies.
By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle.
Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that."

from a little spider named Charlotte, "Charlotte's Web"

Stop and smell the roses so they say but it doesn't have to be a rose. They look so dainty and I love the color. Among pinks and yellows, this color will definitely stand out.

you guys all took amazing photos that mine pale in comparison. it was quite challenging for me to just even find flowers. imagine me going into pavilions' flower aisle (a grocery store) to snap photos ... good thing nobody shooed me away. hahaha! but still the results didn't feel right for me ... not till this one. guess you don't have to really look far and wide, it's just under our noses. =)

Pat, thank you. i haven't read the book but i've seen the movie. =) some nice lessons there. when nikki grows up, i'd very much like her to read about it or see it =)

Ai, coming from you, it's such an honor =) yey, i got a passing mark from my teacher! hehehe! bitaw Ai, looking at this, it reminded me so much of youth and innocence.

Mi, i had to bow down to you ... you captured the message i was trying to share. the theme of my assignment. =)

Leen, yes, our lives surely could stand a little of that ... and it would be such a blessing to have friends who'd be willing. =)

Chelo, budding photographer? hehehe! i'll take that! *wink**wink*

Tita, how true. Life's a constant rush ... to do this and that .. to be here and there ... we all need to slow down sometime and enjoy life's little simple pleasures.

Jane, Noel, Maris, Elena, Nikcy, Nette ... thank you. =) It was quite hard coming up with a good one after all your creative and beautiful creations. It's such a pleasure to be among such talented people.
